The Challenge: Clean Sweeps
Why?
With so many tons of trash being produced every year, it is inevitable that some of it ends up on our streets, our parks, and our waterways in the form of litter. In addition to making our community less attractive to live in, it also poses hazards to animals and the environment at large.
How?
In May, there are several opportunities to get involved in neighborhood clean sweep projects. The annual Kingston Clean Sweep event, sponsored by the Friends of Historic Kingston, is held typically during the first weekend in May, with organizations all over Kingston taking part, including the Kingston Library.
The 12th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023 and will be happening all along the Hudson River. You can organize your own sweep, or find information on joining a team.
