The library has been working on a major renovation plan for the last 10 years.

We interviewed residents, business owners and civic leaders in 2013 to hear what the community wanted from their library. The library board listened to your input and created a master plan to give Kingston residents the library they deserve.

The initial stages of the renovation plan included the beautifully designed new Children’s and Teen Rooms as well as the improvements to the outdoor spaces surrounding the library.

2006   Replace roof and windows and installed programmable thermostats for energy efficiency
2009   Disconnect from the city storm water system, lessening the burden on the city of Kingston system and created a self sustaining drainage system
2016   The beautifully designed new Children’s and Teen Rooms
2019   New fencing with pedestrian entrances on all four sides of the building.
2020  Free external Wi-Fi
2020  New outdoor lighting
2021  New amphitheater and landscaping
2022  Children’s Music Garden
