Lunch & Learn Reading Series: Post-Colonial Africa

Thursday, January 30 • 12noon

Thursdays in January • 12noon
Discussion begins at 12:15

Throughout history, Africa has been marginalized, with textbooks and curriculum often focusing on ancient history or colonial history. We’re going to examine the changing landscape of this important continent by exploring key themes that have shaped its political landscape over the past 100 years. Each week, we’ll explore excerpts from different readings to expand our knowledge of Africa, all while sharing a meal graciously provided by People’s Place Café.

Pick up a packet ahead of time at either location or read it while we grab lunch.

Stop at the Café first (777 Broadway) to pick up your meal and then we’ll head to the Wellness & Empowerment Center next door (775 Broadway).
