A Field Guide to Climate Anxiety: Book Discussion

Thursday, February 27 • 6pm

Climate change is not a problem for the future, or a prediction of what might happen, but rather the reality we are living in. The mounting environmental crisis facing our planet can often feel overwhelming, impacting both our physical and mental health.

Join us for an insightful book discussion on this very important subject. The first 20 people to register will receive a FREE copy of Sarah Ray’s A Field Guide to Climate Anxiety to read before the event. During the discussion, you will hear from some of our community partners actively doing the work to protect our climate and receive information and ideas on steps you can take to help the planet without sacrificing your mental health. (If registration is full, you are still welcome to come but it means all books have been taken)

Drawing on a decade of experience leading and teaching in college environmental studies programs, Sarah Jaquette Ray has created an “existential tool kit” for the climate generation. Combining insights from psychology, sociology, social movements, mindfulness, and the environmental humanities, Ray explains why and how we need to let go of eco-guilt, resist burnout, and cultivate resilience while advocating for climate justice.
