We’re exploring the best of the almost-best: books that were shortlisted for prestigious literary prizes. While they didn’t take home the top honor, these titles more than earn their spot on your reading list with their exceptional writing and unforgettable stories.

A huge thank-you to Half Moon Rondout Café for hosting! 2026 marks our fourth year partnering with them, and we couldn’t imagine a sweeter setting.

Every first Saturday of the month at 2pm, we invite you to join us at 83 Broadway in the Rondout for coffee, donuts, and conversation.

For the rest of the year we’re meeting at the library.
