Prospective Trustee Information Session

Wednesday, July 27 • 6:30pm

City of Kingston residents are invited to stand for election to the Kingston Library Board of Trustees!

What’s that, you ask?

The library is governed by a board of trustees who are responsible for financial oversight, policy creation, community outreach, and advocacy.  Trustees work in collaboration with the Executive Director of the library to carry out its mission and long-range plan.

We have many exciting projects ahead as we address our aging building and facilities and work to improve diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusivity on the Board and in library policy.

Sounds good, but how much work is it?

Trustees meet as a board on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 for 1-2 hours. Each trustee also serves on at least one committee.  Committees also meet once a month. Overall, you should anticipate a 1.5-2 hour per week commitment to the library.

Many of our Trustees are parents and/or working full time.

Think this sounds interesting, but need to know more?

Join us for an informal info session where you can meet current and prospective members and learn about the election process.

No registration required, meet in the Community Room.
