Banned Book Read: Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speak Out

Thursday, September 22 • 6:30pm

Book challenges are on the rise all over the country, and books with LGBTQ+ themes are prime targets. Libraries believe book banning is a form of censorship, and we invite everyone to make choices for themselves but not for others. For this year’s banned books week, we will be reading and discussing Beyond Magenta, the groundbreaking 2015 Stonewall Honor Book that takes an honest look at the life, love, and struggles of transgender teens.

Registration is not required, but if you register, you can pick up a FREE copy of the book before the event.
