The Children’s Summer Reading Programs at the Kingston Library’s are designed for kids ages 1 to 8 (Read to Me) and older kids ages 9 to 12 to encourage lifelong reading habits.

The 2020 Children’s Summer Reading Programs at the Kingston Library will be held online this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The programs take place through August 31.

The Children’s Summer Reading Programs at the Kingston Library is open to children between the ages of 2 and 12. The Imagine Your Story programs run through Monday, Aug. 31.

Join us for a variety of entertaining and exciting online events from some amazing performers and educators. Some events will be available to livestream and some are pre-recorded with various viewing times. Please visit our READSquared page to view the details of our schedule of events and to register for the summer program.

As part of our summer program, we’re presenting the awesome Ulster County Reads – Summer Reading 2020 Program in collaboration with the 20 other libraries in the Ulster County Library Association. Children 12 and under can join the fun by participating in Book Bingo, events, and activities!

Children who play Book Bingo can fill out cards with a variety of different reading, art, nature, STEM and museum adventures to keep creating, learning, and reading all summer long. Participants will receive a Stewart’s gift certificate for one free ice cream cone just for playing Book Bingo and each completed square will earn participants a raffle ticket for a chance to win fun prizes.

READSquared is an online reading program system where you can register for summer programs; find reading logs and keep track of your reading for rewards: books for ages 2 to 8 or gift cards for ages 9 to 12; and complete missions to earn a raffle ticket. The deadline for turning in reading logs is Thursday, Aug. 6 for ages 2 to 8 and Thursday, Aug. 13 for ages 9 to 12. You will also earn a raffle ticket for each READSquared mission completed.

We have themed Crafts to Go packets available each week. Call the Children’s Library at 845-331-0507 ext. 7 to request a packet and schedule a time to pick it up.
